Mom went up to my sister's on Saturday. I have the house all to myself. Too bad I have to go to work today.

I am thinking about transferring to another department. The department where I work now is getting old. Also, I am getting tired of having to cater to the senior nurse's every whim. She make me do copies when I know she could do them herself. There are other things, too, that I know she could do herself.

Applying for a transfer doesn't mean I'll get it. But I'll give it my best shot.

You might have noticed that I decided to put my post my profile. I know I am not as "hip" as some of the bloggers, but those are my tastes, deal with it! ;)

I also discovered that someone else has a blog called Paper Pusher. Since I had the name first, she made a slight alteration to the URL. She doesn't seem to post much, either! I feel a little better!

More to come when I feel like blogging.

Thanksgiving day! I sit at the keybord in my jammies (official blogger uniform) and wonder what to write. My sister and her husband are visting. They will take my mother back with them to their home in the Sacramento area, and I will have the house to myself. YAAAAAY! I will join them around Christmas.

It is almost a year since my father died. My mom is becoming more depressed as the date draws near. There is not much I can do. On a brighter note, the cast on her foot came off, and now she doesn't have to wear a brace anymore. However, the doc said it will take a full year for my mom to fully recover from the ankle fracture.

I still don't have a clue on what this blog should be about. Should it be about my work or my family or both?

Time will tell. Later!

I'm back after almost a year! Lazy, Lazy, Lazy!

My father passed away on December 1, 2003. I am trying to be some kind of moral support for my mother, but it is hard. My mother and father were married for 59 years, and it is hard for her to let go. She cries sometimes, especially when she sees a photo of my dad that she forgot about.

Four weeks ago, she slipped in the bathroom and broke her ankle. I have been taking care of her ever since. The cast comes off in two weeks. I am counting the days!

More later.

Well, not quite tomorrow, but close. I have been through I lot in the past 3 months. My 80-year-old father has been in and out of the hospital because of his head problems. He had subdural hematomas (bleeding on top of the brain) and had surgery to drain them. Then, while he was in a rehab center, he fell in the bathroom while being attended to by a staff member because a raised toilet seat broke! Now he is back in the hospital, but he doesn't seem as bad as he was. Perhaps the hematoma is draining by itself, as I have read in some medical books. My mom has not decided whether or not to let the hospital send him back to the same place after he is discharged, as she is contemplating legal action.

Also, all of this is causing some problem in my work. I am backlogged because I have had to use my sick time to run my mother to the hospital (she doesn't drive freeways). The nurse I work under seems to be treating me coldly, although she took medical leave earlier this year for 3 months! Maybe it is all my imagination. We will see.

Since I am starting this blog all over again, I will post my background either later today or tomorrow.

I'm back! Three months is a long time away. I am starting from scratch. A lot has happened in that time. More tomorrow.
